Call to Confession
More majestic than the thunders of mighty waters, more majestic than the waves[a] of the sea, majestic on high is the Lord! (Psalm 93:4) Let us confess our sin before the God of Majesty, and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Forgive us, O God. We have made humans into gods, and worshiped them to the point of absolute devotion while the One we claim to follow in life and in death has ascended to the Heavens and sits at the right hand of God Almighty. We watch in curiosity as God's own Son disappears from our sight, leaving us to the work that God-with-Us began, and we turn to do the work of those whose power is manufactured and temporary. Have mercy on us, we pray! Open our eyes to our own disloyalty and our minds to the ways in which we choose lies over Truth. Renew a right spirit within us, O God, that our clear thinking and faithfulness to you might be restored. In the name of Christ we pray, Amen. Assurance of God's Grace God is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love ... (Joel 2:13) Hear the Good News: in the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week. Come into the courts of the king!
Come singing praises! Come shouting gratitude! Join all of creation in worship and adoration! The Lord is robed in majesty! Let us worship the Lord. Acts 1:1-11 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts+1%3A1-11&version=NRSVUE

we worship you! In a world where your children rail against you and against one another, we long for harmony, unity, and celebration. Move your Spirit within and among us, we pray, and inspire in us a desire to love one another as you love us. God of victory and vindication, we call on you! As war rages in countries around the world and conflict arises on college campuses and egos trade truth for power, we beg for your intervention. Humble your people, O Lord. Open our hearts to your transforming power. Teach us how to achieve justice with mercy and hope. God of creation, we give you thanks! In the roar of the ocean, the whisper of the breeze, the majesty of mountains, the comfort of trees; in the playfulness of squirrels, the song of the birds, the hope of a sunrise, the songs without words, we see your imagination and your wisdom, your delight and your playfulness. With all that is within us, we are grateful, for you have shown us how to live and to love in diversity and joy in your self-revelation of the created world. God of steadfast love and faithfulness, we praise you! We lift up your name in wonder and in awe. In spite of our failures to live according to your law of love, you love us still ... unconditionally and with fierce passion. Teach us how to love with this same devotion and ignite in us a faithfulness to serve one another according to your will. 5/2/2024 0 Comments Playlist, E6B posted:5/1/2024 0 Comments Prayer of Confession, E6BCall to Confession
Because the Lord your God is a merciful God, he will neither abandon you nor destroy you; he will not forget the covenant with your ancestors that he swore to them. (Deuteronomy 4:31) Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, and confess our sin before our merciful God and seek forgiveness. Prayer of Confession Forgive us, God. We sing songs of lament instead of songs of praise, our grievances more egocentric than justice-oriented. We fail to herald your victories for those who long for vindication, or sing of your steadfast love and faithfulness for the lonely, the imprisoned, the poor, the oppressed, or the infirm. We silence the joyful sounds of creation by our failure to steward with compassion and care. Have mercy on us, we pray. Inspire in us a song of gratitude that offers hope to a hurting world. Reorient our focus so that our eyes and our hearts are trained on you. Assurance of God's Grace For our sake God made the one who knew no sin to be sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week. 4/30/2024 0 Comments Call to Worship, E6BingCome, all who have all new song to sing.
