5/1/2024 0 Comments Prayer of Confession, E6BCall to Confession
Because the Lord your God is a merciful God, he will neither abandon you nor destroy you; he will not forget the covenant with your ancestors that he swore to them. (Deuteronomy 4:31) Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, and confess our sin before our merciful God and seek forgiveness. Prayer of Confession Forgive us, God. We sing songs of lament instead of songs of praise, our grievances more egocentric than justice-oriented. We fail to herald your victories for those who long for vindication, or sing of your steadfast love and faithfulness for the lonely, the imprisoned, the poor, the oppressed, or the infirm. We silence the joyful sounds of creation by our failure to steward with compassion and care. Have mercy on us, we pray. Inspire in us a song of gratitude that offers hope to a hurting world. Reorient our focus so that our eyes and our hearts are trained on you. Assurance of God's Grace For our sake God made the one who knew no sin to be sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
