Call to Confession
More majestic than the thunders of mighty waters, more majestic than the waves[a] of the sea, majestic on high is the Lord! (Psalm 93:4) Let us confess our sin before the God of Majesty, and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Forgive us, O God. We have made humans into gods, and worshiped them to the point of absolute devotion while the One we claim to follow in life and in death has ascended to the Heavens and sits at the right hand of God Almighty. We watch in curiosity as God's own Son disappears from our sight, leaving us to the work that God-with-Us began, and we turn to do the work of those whose power is manufactured and temporary. Have mercy on us, we pray! Open our eyes to our own disloyalty and our minds to the ways in which we choose lies over Truth. Renew a right spirit within us, O God, that our clear thinking and faithfulness to you might be restored. In the name of Christ we pray, Amen. Assurance of God's Grace God is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love ... (Joel 2:13) Hear the Good News: in the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
