Prayers of the People, Transfiguration Sunday, Year B

Creator God,
who spoke creation into existence,
speak peace to your people.
Speak into existence imagination
and light
and beauty
for a people longing for hope.

Spirit God,
who comes in fire,
roar through your church
with the fire of passion.
Ignite in us a desire
to love deeply
and wholly
and unconditionally
as have taught us to love
by your example.

Righteous Redeemer,
call to us now
from the judgment seat,
and remind us of the grace
with which you embrace us.
Humble our hearts
that we may welcome 
in your holy name,
those whom others shun ...
whom we ourselves have excluded ... ,
with extravagant hospitality.

Hear our fervent prayers, O God,
for ourselves
and for our siblings in Christ,
and for children of God 
all over the world
who long to see your face.
