God of mercy,
where are you?
The world is at war!
Children are dying.
Elderly are being tortured.
Young women are being raped.
Young men are being riddled with bullets.
In Israel.
In Gaza.
In Ukraine.
In Russia.
In the streets of our cities.
In the homes of social media influencers
and the affluent
as well as the poverty-stricken.
Where are you, God? 
Has justice escaped us?
Is righteousness out of reach?
Our hearts are broken!
Remember us, O Lord!
Draw your children near to you. 
Comfort your people in their time of pain.
Stand in the breach, we pray.
Do not destroy us!
Show us your might, O God!
Help us to trust in your favor.
Lord, in your mercy, 
​hear our prayers.
