Prayers of the People, Epiphany C

​Light of the World,
All over the world,
your people are living in occupation,
discouraged by counter-intuitive norms
and abuse of power,
both of which fly in the face
of your law of love.
Economic challenges
further exacerbate the division
between the wealthy and the workforce,
oppressing the poor
and forcing them into slavery.
Your children are drowning in doubt
that you can,
or will,
save them.
Shine your light in the darkness,
we pray.
Shine your light to every corner of the earth,
that people everywhere will see your glory.
Shine your light on the paths
of all who wander aimlessly
seeking to find you
and to kneel before your throne.
Shine your light,
that it may guide and direct us
until we find our way back to you.
