Call to Confession
the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law—indeed it cannot ... (Romans 8:7) Let us confess our sin before God, and shift our minds to the Spirit as we seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession Lord and Master, we are faithless servants, burying what we have been given in fear of what might happen if we invest ourselves in something bigger than ourselves. You risked yourself for us, but we are not willing to risk ourselves for you. You risked yourself for all, but we are not willing to risk ourselves for even one. Instead, we play it safe, and in the end, no one is safe because the status quo is retained, and had that been enough for you, then we would all be lost for eternity. Forgive us, we pray. Inspire in us a confidence that you would not entrust us with the message of the kin-dom if you were not willing to journey with us to the end. Assurance of God's Grace By God's grace we have been saved through faith, and this is not of our own doing; it is a gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8) In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day~
