A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination. (Proverbs 18:11) Let us confess our idolatries before God and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Teacher, forgive us. We are greedy people. Our thirst for wealth and power takes us down paths that threaten the very lives of our siblings in Christ. We risk their wholeness, dehumanize and enslave them, and deprive them, and we call it freedom. Forgive us, we pray. Teach us to thirst for righteousness and to march for justice. Show us how to humble ourselves in order to lift up the broken, and to share what we have with those who have not. Demonstrate in and through us, Lord, what true freedom looks like for all who seek your Will. Assurance of God's Grace And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on, sin no more." John 8:11b Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
