Everyone who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil. (I John 3:8) Let us confess our alliance with sin before God, and seek God's transforming Spirit. Prayer of Confession What have you to do with us, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? What have you to do with us? Do not torment us because of our fear, we pray. Send your Spirit to intervene and save us from ourselves! Rescue us from our idolatry. Rescue us from our willful blindness. Rescue us from our prejudices toward the other, our refusal to support those with mental health variances, and our inability to trust in your unconditional love and grace. Hear our prayers, O God! Free us from the demons that have taken hold of us, and clothe us with kindness, compassion, and love. Assurance of God's Grace Little children, you are from God and have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (I John 4:4) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
