Call to Confession
All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Let us confess our sin before God and seek God's mercy.
Prayer of Confession, P19C
Your faithfulness is beyond our comprehension, O God,
for we are a faithless people,
breaking covenant with you,
and with each other,
until our word no longer matters.
We know your law of love,
but we do not follow it.
Our desires come before our concern
for our neighbor.
Forgive us we pray,
and write your law upon our hearts,
so that we may truly be your people
and you may truly be our God.
Assurance of God's Grace
The days are surely coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah ... I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more. (Jeremiah 31:31, 34) In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God!
Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you.
Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day.
