for though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless hearts were darkened. (Romans 1:21) Let us confess our lack of gratitude for God’s healing activity in our lives and seek God’s mercy: Unison Prayer of Confession Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on us. Jesus, Lord, have mercy on us. We set up boundaries between us and “undesirables.” We excommunicate those who are suffering. We fail to remember or to give thanks for the times in which our own leprosy -- figurative or literal -- quarantined us and left us feeling bereft and alone, and your grace healed us and restored us to wholeness in every sense of the word. Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on us. Jesus, Lord, have mercy on us. Help us to invite the stranger and the outcast into a communal dance of thanksgiving and praise. Assurance of God's Grace I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and did not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me. (Psalm 30:1-2) Hear the Good News: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
