10/9/2019 0 Comments Prayer of Confession, P18CCall to Confession
Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or the Lord's ear dull, that it cannot hear; but (our) iniquities have made a separation between (us) and (our) God, and (our) sins have hidden God's face from (us) so that God does not hear. (Isaiah 59:1-2) Let us confess our sin before God, and seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession, P18C Here we sit, Lord, exiles in a landscape of despair. This is not where we wanted to be when we set out on this journey, yet it is where we have landed. We wander around here, building temporary shelters, but expecting to die in this Godforsaken place. We stopped hoping to be rescued a long time ago, and we have long since lost our way home. Forgive our lack of faith, God. Forgive our failure to trust in your promises. Help us to reach out and form community with those around us who are also suffering, so that together, we might find out way back to you. Assurance of God's Grace God has promised that when we confess our sin, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sin, removing it as far as the east is from the west, and remembering it no more. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day~
