Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God, 6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever; (Psalm 146:5-6) Let us turn to our God, Maker of Heaven and earth, and seek God’s help: Prayer of Confession The Good News is that you, Lord, are on the side of the underdog. Your people are under attack, trapped, at risk of drowning! Yet we resist being rescued, insisting we can protect ourselves. You free us from the traps set for us, longing for us to live according to your Law of Love. Teach us to stay on the side of hope, of love, of community and caring, of inclusiveness, no matter how imperfect we may be. God, be our help, and lead us to the peace we are seeking. Assurance of God’s Grace It is God who made the heavens and the earth by God’s great power and by God’s outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for God. (Jeremiah 32:17) Hear the Good News: By the power of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, we have been forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
