And before him no creature is hidden, but all are naked and laid bare to the eyes of the one to whom we must render an account. (Hebrews 4:13) Let us confess our sin before God and seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession Bread of Life, We are believers who wrestle with faith. We are grumblers, grumbling amongst ourselves about you ... YOU ... yes, you ... because we do not like your radical love and extravagant grace except when it benefits us. We hunger and thirst for righteousness, for justice, for peace, but our righteousness looks different than yours; our justice is not justice in your sight. We hunger for the Bread of Life and thirst for Living Water. Daily. But we wait too long between feasting, and our bodies, minds, and spirits wane from lack of nourishment, and it shows in our work, and in our energy, in our relationships, and in our spirits. God, forgive us. Tell us again how to love as you love. Nourish us anew with the Bread of Heaven, and raise us up with you. Assurance of God's Grace God said, "This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." (Hebrews 8:10) In the name of Jesus Christ, the fulfillment of the covenant God made with God's people, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
