Against the Lord, and the Lord only, have we sinned, and done what is evil in God's sight, so that God may be justified in God's words, and blameless in God's judgment. (Psalm 51:5, pp) Let us confess our sin before God and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Rotten grapes, we are, O God, after all your hard work pruning and training and nurturing us into being. We have failed to meet your expectations. Our flavor is gone. Forgive us, we pray! Forgive our wayward reach, our clumping together in open defiance, our sour attitudes. We deserve your judgment, O God, but we beg you not to treat us the way we treat others in your name. It is not too late, is it? Retrain us! Prune from us that which is not fruitful or nutritious or Godly in flavor, and restore our fullness by your grace. Assurance of God's Grace the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. (Psalm 147:11) Hear the Good News: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
