Do not remember the sins of (our) youth or (our) transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember (us), for the sake of your goodness, O Lord! (Psalm 25:7) Let us confess our sins before God, and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Forgive us, O God! We have not followed the map laid out in your word. We have not single-mindedly pursued you or the wise living you prescribe. We have tried to make our own way, and in doing so, have made a solid mess of things. We have not loved you with all our hearts and all our souls and all our minds and all our strength. We have not loved our enemies. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. Create in us a new heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Give us a new perspective, we pray, that we might delight in your counsel and reorient ourselves to Your will. Assurance of God's Grace (Jesus said,) "Already you have been cleansed because of the word I have spoken to you." Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
