Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. (1 John 2:10-11) Let us confess our sin before God, and seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession, L5A Oh, that we had the faith of Martha, Lord, for in our trials and out of frustration, we cry out to you, expecting you to right all that is wrong in our world immediately. Oh, that we had the assurance of Mary, to fall at your feet and worship you even when our despair is more than we can maage. The stench of our greed and selfishness is great, O God, yet it is in the open now, and everyone is a witness to the ways in which we have failed to love our siblings in faith. Forgive us, we pray, and raise us up to new ways of living where kindness and compassion are the order of the day, where connectedness becomes a priority, where the desire for another's wellbeing overrides our desire to indulge ourselves. If we have learned nothing else as your children, may we learn to love one another as you love us. Assurance of God's Grace In Jesus is light, and the life is the light of all people. (John 1:4, pp) In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day~
