the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. (Luke 19:10) In response to the Son of Man's searching calls, let us confess our sin and be found. Prayer of Confession Holy Presence, we have turned away from you, and stopped trusting in your promises that anyone can have a whole and lasting life. We no longer look for you to lead us toward light and life. You shine your light into our midst, and we run for the darkness. We choose evil over good, in complete denial of the truth before our very eyes. Have mercy on us, we pray. Spare us from the judgment and condemnation we rightly deserve, and lead us to a new understanding of life-giving love. Assurance of God's Grace now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:22-23) In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day.
