All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Let us confess our sin before God and seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession, Lent 2C Here we are, God, the helpless, hopeless, half-hazard humans you have called to be the church. Here we are, fumbling, failing, frustrated fools, living in fear instead of faith. We question when you call us to take risks. We choose small and safe instead of the large and expansive you offer. We are impatient and demanding. Forgive us, we pray. Help us to trust where we cannot see. Help us to rest in your promises. Grant us courage to follow where you lead, and the strength to trust in your Word. Assurance of God's Grace Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you insect, Israel! I will help you, says the Lord; your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 41:14) In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since we have been forgiven in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day.
