God said, "Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other." (Isaiah 45:22) Let us turn to God and seek God's grace: Prayer of Confession Forgive us, God. We are the creators of systems that afflict the afflicted, and we hide our faces from those who cry out for justice. We are the hoarders of resources that keep the poor in poverty and prevent their children from eating their fill. We do not live for you ... we live for ourselves and ourselves alone, seeking to promote our own interests rather than communal interests that benefit and enrich us all by empowering those whose voices we have silenced by our actions and our laws. In your mercy, Lord, hear our prayers! Forgive our performative worship and transform our hearts that we truly proclaim deliverance and be the avenue by which you work ... the Body of Christ at work in the world. May it be so. Assurance of God's Grace For our sake God made the one who knew no sin to be sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
