The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of all who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them. (Psalm 145:18-19) Let us confess our sin before God and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession (w/ excerpts from Psalm 86, pp) Give ear, O Lord, to our prayers; listen to our pleas for grace. In the day of trouble, we call upon you for you answer us. We have bound ourselves to sin, preferring power to humility, greed to equity, self-righteousness to compassion. Forgive us, we pray. Loose us from the idol worship that entangles us and diverts our devotion from you. Open our hearts and minds to the way of love lived by Christ who showed us what it means to be children of God. Assurance of God's Grace But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the fruit you have leads to sanctification, and the end is eternal life. (Romans 6:22) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
