All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Let us confess our sin before God and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Forgive us, God, for we are terribly divided: We are divided by culture; We are divided by language; We are divided by financial "class." Forgive us, God, for we are hopelessly divided: We are divided on science; We are divided on economics; We are divided on war. Forgive us, God, for we are irreparably divided: We are divided in theology; We are divided in politics; We are divided in families. Forgive us, God, for we are irrefutably divided: We are divided on truth, and if we cannot agree on truth, how will we ever find common ground? Restore us, we pray, to your image, that we may be re-unified as members of the Body of Christ, as children of God ... heirs of the throne in the kin-dom of love according to your will. Assurance of God's Grace And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is through God's Son. (1 John 5:11) Hear the Good News: in the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
