I was once asked about my favorite part of worship. The answer: hymns. Hymns provide the space for me to let go and worship God unabashedly. It is a practice for me to create a playlist for each week's focus passage as part of my exegetical process. I would like to start sharing these playlists with you. These are not exhaustive lists. They are *my* lists. I search YouTube to listen to them or download them onto my phone, and I play through them on the piano (though I'm also looking forward to playing them on my grandpa's guitar, which I'm slowly teaching myself to play.) You might add -- or subtract -- from these lists to make your own, based on the same passages, but regardless, I hope you feel free to return again and again to this post each week to be inspired, encouraged, and renewed, and to give words to your statements of faith, your laments and your praises, your devotion to and your hope in the Triune God.

Julie participated in the 25th Seminar for Certified Zentangle(R) Teacher Training in June, 2019, trained by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. In addition to creating art as a personal spiritual practice, Julie also incorporates the Zentangle(R) method in Prayer Art Retreats in a variety of contexts, including church groups, friend gatherings, and at a local art gallery.
