Call to Worship, Baptism of the Lord Sunday, Year C

Come, you who are filled with expectation,
you who are looking for the Messiah,
the Christ.
Come to the waters of baptism
and pray.
Follow Jesus, God’s beloved Son,
who led the way.                                                                           
With the eyes of your heart,
look for the Holy Spirit descending upon you.
Listen for the voice of God
claiming you
and calling you God’s own.

Come, you prophets and teachers,
and welcome the seekers,
the followers,
the waiting-to-be-transformed.
Come, and greet them
in the name of the One who will baptize
with Holy Spirit and fire.
