This past weekend, our son's college team played in the conference playoffs. One of the team dads said he needed a neck adjustment because his shoulders were hurting. On a scale of 1-10, he said the pain level was about an 8. I asked him if he knew about Reiki. He did not. I told him I was a Reiki Master Practitioner and that I couldn't promise I could help, but if he was willing, I might be able to relieve his pain. He moved from the bleachers to his lawn chair in a heartbeat, and I placed my hands on his shoulders and started administering Reiki. When I felt the tension in his shoulders release, I asked permission to move my hands to his neck. Within minutes, the tension there released as well, and R was amazed! He said the pain was gone! When we left the ball field after the final game two days later, R told me, "I still feel like a million bucks!" YEAAAAAA!

Our daughter suffers from migraine headaches. One of the reasons I wanted to learn Reiki was to help her manage those. While I was undergoing Reiki III training, I took Healing Touch Level 1 Training, where I learned some additional energetic techniques for managing migraines. H does not always get total relief from Reiki, but she almost always asks me to send Reiki when she is experiencing a migraine headache because it is one of the few measures that helps with any consistency at all. My friend, M, has also found relief from her migraine headaches when I have sent Reiki to her. It certainly eases a mother's heart to have the tools to help her hurting child. <3 5/15/2017 0 Comments May 15th, 2017Losing the Lump
Our youngest son came home from baseball practice one night with a lump on his lower left shin the size of a small apple. He had been hit by a ball. He asked for Reiki (all my kids do now), so I got the table out and put him on it. As I held my hand over the lump on his leg, my husband and I actually watched the lump go down until it was barely noticeable, and the pain was gone. R experienced very little bruising and no lingering discomfort. To this day, none of us have ever seen, nor can we ever remember seeing prior to that incident, a lump go down before our very eyes. 5/15/2017 0 Comments May 15th, 2017Fireworks in the Pitching Arm
A young man on my youngest son's high school baseball team came to me for help. He hadn't pitched in months because of the pain, and the new baseball season was underway. He had seen his physician, a surgeon, and a physical therapist, but there were no answers. The energy in the right elbow was stagnant when I scanned. Nothing was moving. I proceeded with the usual prescribed positions, and then spent some time working on the flow of energy from his shoulder to his hand in the right arm. After the first session, the energy was moving. It wasn't a dramatic change, but there was movement, and A was hopeful enough to return for a second session. When we started the second session, the energy was stagnant again, but it didn't take long to get it moving and the flow was greater by the time he left the second time than it was the first time. A was able to see that for himself because I use a pendulum to show energy movement before and after. This confirms what I pick up from the scan and also gives the recipient a visual reference for noting the difference in energy flow. When A came back the third time, he had maintained the energy flow he had had when he left after the second sesion, and I proceeded as I had before, but something very different happened during this session. As I held A's elbow between the palms of my hand, it felt as if fireworks were going off inside. I was stunned! So was A! His eyes flew open, and he stared at me, while I tried to remain nonchalant, but the truth is, I was blown away! When I assessed A's energy flow at the end of the session, there was no blockage whatsoever. The energy was flowing freely. A reported that his pain was completely gone, and he very quickly returned to full use of his pitching arm, telling the entire team how it had happened! His mom took his next session for Reiki I training and became a practitioner herself. 5/15/2017 0 Comments May 15th, 2017Reiki for Pain Management
It was October of 2008. I'd been trained to Reiki I for less than a month when I underwent surgery to biopsy two cycsts in my right breast. Once the nurses had prepped me for surgery, I asked if anyone on staff at the hospital was Reiki trained. One of the nurses called the chaplain who came and offered Reiki while I was waiting. Following surgery, I opted out of the pain medication that was prescribed, and managed the pain with Reiki self-care alone. I'm not one to take medication as a rule, but the pain of surgery can be a different story. I was pleased with the results: not only was the pain during recovery very manageable, but the scars are almost nonexistent. There is hardly a trace of the incisions, which I contribute in part to a fantastic surgeon and in part to Reiki healing. 5/15/2017 0 Comments May 15th, 2017To Live Until He Dies
In February of 2009, a dear friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was devastated. I adored him and his lovely wife, and my heart was broken. For all they had done for me, what could I possibly do for them during this difficult time? After my Reiki II training, while I was training for Reiki III, it occurred to me I could send Reiki to him regularly. Certainly, I was already praying for him, but I had begun to realize that with Reiki came the opportunity to participate with God in facilitating healing. After much prayer over the next few days, I decided to send Reiki every twelve hours around the clock. Starting July 22nd, I did exactly that, wondering all the time what kind of difference it might make. Each time I assessed D, his root chakra was unstable, which was consistent with the fact that he could not walk without assistance at all. I would balance the entire system, paying special attention to the root chakra, and as I ended, I visualized him fishing ... his favorite downtime activity, and something he hadn't enjoyed for many months. Two weeks in, I got a phone call from D's wife. How was I, she wondered? They couldn't stop thinking about me, she said, and they thought they should check in to see if I was O.K. I smiled to myself ... I had been "playing in their energy fields" for two weeks (because of course I was sending Reiki to J as well ... cancer never just impacts the patient, but always ripples out to everyone around the patient). I was good, thanks. She asked several questions, checking on various areas of my life, while I looked for opportunities to ask about D. When I did, she said he had been doing much better over the last couple of weeks, and was walking on his own and had even been fishing three times! Silent tears of joy and thanksgiving ran down my face. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that I was NOT the only one praying for this sweet hero of mine, but I also knew exactly what I had been praying and how. My intention for D every time I sent Reiki was that if he could not be healed of his cancer, that he would at least be able to live until he died. Just over seven months later, he passed quietly, having fished several times in the interim. I am confident the Reiki helped. Later in my studies, I learned that accupuncturists believe it takes twelve hours for the energy to travel completely through the body's meridians. D was being flooded with a continuous current of Reiki day after day. I am humbled to have had that opporunity to share in his journey, and will be forever grateful that after all he had done for me, I was able to offer some small gift to him in return. 5/15/2017 0 Comments May 15th, 2017Receive Your Servant
It was my birthday -- May 21st, 2009. I had a work meeting over an hour away. When I pulled into the parking lot of the meeting location, I got a phone call from the office. An elderly man was dying. I took his daughter's cell phone number and called. Doctors were predicting death to come late that night or possibly even the next day, but it was imminent. Should I come now, I asked? No. Stay for your meeting, I was told. Just be aware. Check in later. My Reiki II training was only a week old. Could I do this? Was it as effective to send it, I wondered? I reminded myself God was in charge, and I went inside. During the start of the meeting, I sat quietly in the back, sending Reiki to this lovely man ... assessing his energy level and balancing his energy system without anyone's awareness. Throughout the day, I "checked in" with his energy system frequently, and I checked in with God. Where were we? Mid-afternoon, I had a strong feeling it was time to head back. The meeting was not quite over, but the feeling was strong enough that I paid attention to it, and left. When I arrived at the nursing home, I walked into his room and set my purse down, greeting his family. I turned to the man's wife, and asked, "What can I do for you?" She said very pointedly, "Pray for him." So I took her hand with my left hand, and placed my right hand -- buzzing with Reiki -- on the man's knee, and I prayed aloud: Dear God, Please hear our prayer for G. He has fought the good fight. He has run the race. Receive your servant now into your loving arms .... I can't tell you what I prayed after that because with that, he breathed his last, and I felt his spirit leave his body ever so peacefully. That was not me, friends. That was God. And it was God who got me there in time, and it was God who kept me in tune with G's energy level throughout the day via Reiki. I will never forget that day! While I am aware of and have SEEN God's awesome power at work, I never cease to be amazed when I experience it first hand. God is SO good. 5/15/2017 2 Comments May 15th, 2017Learning to Practice
I was new to the practice of Reiki, having just been trained and attuned to Level 1. Our son came home from college for a weekend with a miserable cold. He hadn't slept well in days, and his appetite was non-existant. I asked him if he was willing for me to try Reiki for relief. As I knelt beside where he lay on his bed, I was unsure if I would be able to discern what was happening in his energy field, but those fears were soon relieved. The difference in the heavy, damp, almost humid energy that was not moving at all above his waist and the cool, breezy energy that was moving below his waist was clear. I knelt there for several minutes just moving my hands back and forth from below to above his waist and back to be sure I wasn't dreaming. Once I was sure of what I was experiencing and could articulate it, I started the Reiki session using the full scan to assess and then combing through the wet energy before placing my hands in the prescribed positions. When I finished, my son was sound asleep. After a good nap, he came upstairs ravenous and asked for food. It was the first time he had slept well or had an appetite in days. He went back to bed after eating and slept well all night, and woke up feeling significantly better, able to breathe clearly, and with much more mental clarity. My son became a believer in Reiki that night! |
