Prayers of the People, Pentecost Sunday, Year B

Glory be to you, O God,
Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer!
You spoke everything that exists
into being.
You sang your song of life
and the world populated
with plants and flowers and trees,
the oceans teamed with fish,
the skies, with flying creatures.
You open your hand and feed us.
You breathe your Spirit into us
and give us life.

You are Lord of the tremors,
Master of the volcanoes.
You speak and the waves settle.

Be present with your creation, O God.
Encircle your creatures with protection,
we pray.
Turn your face upon us
and bless us with your healing light.
Restore what we have broken,
and renew what we have polluted.
Reconnect us, Source of Life,
to the earth from which we’ve come,
and the soil which produces our food,
that we may be ever mindful
of your abundance
and or our responsibility
to steward our resources and our choices
with wisdom
and compassion.
