Prayers of the People, P+8B

Creator God,
we praise you!
All of creation joins together in praise,
for you shaped the continents;
you fashioned the earth!
Everything that exists, exists because of you!
Hear our prayers for creation, O God,
and for we who have been given responsibility for it.
Our stewardship leaves much to be desired, O God.
Transform our greed into compassion
and humility.
Teach us to care for your world with the same deep love
that made all that is.

Glorious King,
be merciful to those who stand before you in holy spaces.
Hear our cries for liberty and hope.
Purify us anew, O God, that we may serve you faithfully.
Lift those who are suffering out of their despair.
Redeem those who have been wrongly charged
and those whose hearts sincerely seek to make restitution.
Work through your people to accomplish your Will, we pray,
even to the ends of the earth.

Commander of Heaven's Armies,
be present among your people in all the warring factions
of the earth.
Be present with those who have been brutally attacked
and restore them to wholeness.
Be present with those who live under tyrannical rule
and inspire them.
Be present with those who are unjustly persecuted
and rain down justice among them.
Be present with those who fight inner demons
and shine your light in the darkness.
Be present with those who are afflicted by poison and pain
and place your healing hand upon them. 
You are powerful, Almighty God,
and equipped for battle:
Fight for your people now, we pray,
young and old and in between,
poor and rich and in between,
voiceless and powerful and in between,
that all may see your glory throughout the universe.
May it be so.
