Listen to the petitions of your people. Hear the cries of the hungry. Answer their pleas for food -- for bread and for the bread of life -- for themselves and for their children. Satisfy them with good things, that they might be filled and rest this night in comfort. Bread of Life, rise. Listen to the petitions of your people. Hear the cries of the stranger. Answer their pleas for safety -- for welcome and inclusion -- for themselves and for their children. Send your church to greet them, to welcome them with open arms, that they might rest this night in security. Bread of Life, rise. Listen to the petitions of your people. Hear the cries of the grieving. Answer their pleas for comfort -- for restoration and newness of life -- for themselves and for their children. Encircle them with love that they might be strengthened and rest this night in peace. Bread of Life, rise. Even the dogs get crumbs from the master's table. How much more can your children hope to receive by your hand? Therefore, feed your church and send them out to love and to serve in the name of the One whose radical love and self-sacrificing service set the example for us in loving God and loving neighbor for all time.
