To you they cried and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. (Psalm 22:5) Let us cry out to God and seek God's saving grace: Prayer of Confession God, forgive us. We seek security in things of earthly value like money and property and power. We seek control over our lives and the lives of others instead of trusting that God’s grace is sufficient in ways we cannot imagine. We resist trusting God’s faithful presence through life’s challenges by believing we can only depend on ourselves, by becoming drunk on power, by focusing on greed and fear. When hope wavers, we long for refuge, but we seek it in the fault lines of human ego instead of the rock-solid faithfulness we find in you. Open our hearts to the transforming power of unconditional love. Teach us to trust in the justice of equity and the certainty of grace. Help us to believe in and to join the work of the Spirit that the kin-dom of God may be made real in the present for a future filled with the hope you desire for us. Assurance of God's Grace In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace 8 that he lavished on us. (Ephesians 1:7-8) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
