Call to Confession
If we say we are without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us, but if we confess our sin, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let us confess our sin before God.
Prayer of Confession
We are guilty, O God,
of failing to be the kind of friend to you
and to one another
that you are to us.
Our lack of hospitality is evident
in our distraction.
We hide in our phones,
trying not to be seen,
trying to avoid being fully known.
Forgive our fear of intimacy,
our aversion to vulnerability,
Open our hearts to your presence,
to your gift of Sabbath rest
Open our eyes to your glory
Declaration of God's Grace
God has established equity and executed justice in and through God's only Son, Jesus Christ, and in so doing, has rescued us from the wrath that was coming. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!
Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another! The peace of Christ be with you.
Please pass the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day ....
Julie participated in the 25th Seminar for Certified Zentangle(R) Teacher Training in June, 2019, trained by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. In addition to creating art as a personal spiritual practice, Julie also incorporates the Zentangle(R) method in Prayer Art Retreats in a variety of contexts, including church groups, friend gatherings, and at a local art gallery.
