All we like sheep have gone astray; we have all turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6) Let us confess together the ways in which we have turned to our own way and repent and turn to the God of mercy and compassion: Prayer of Confession O, God, forgive us. We are not a patient people. We do not want to wait for suffering to produce endurance. We do not want to wait for endurance to produce character. We do not want to wait for character to produce hope. We live in an Instagram world. We want answers and resolutions now. Forgive our impatience, we pray. Open our hearts to the joy that comes from learning while we wait. Open our minds to the wisdom that comes from growth. Open our spirits to the promise that comes from relationship with you. Pour your love into us by the power of the Holy Spirit that our lives might reflect your grace and we might boast in you as we share the Good News of reconciliation. Assurance of God's Grace Let it be known to you therefore, (siblings in Christ) that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you; by this Jesus everyone who believes is set free from all those sins from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses. (Acts 13:38-39) Hear the Good News: in the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
