O that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways! (Psalm 81:13) Let us confess the ways in which was have failed to listen to God and to walk in God's ways: Prayer of Confession Lord, in your mercy, have compassion on your people. Too afraid of the powers that be, we run away from doing what is right in the face of all that is wrong. Tormented by our fears, we allow anxiety to prevent us from living out your claim on our lives. We have turned away from the work you began and bowed to idols whose greed perpetuates illness and anxiety and fear in those who are most vulnerable. Forgive our impatience with you and with one another. Forgive our intolerance for active waiting. Forgive our lack of courage in speaking up and standing firm alongside you, we pray, and renew a right spirit within us that we might remember that we are your children, siblings together with Christ, and teach us to live accordingly. Assurance of God's Grace " ... and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him, ..." (Hebrews 5:9) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
