The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. (Psalm 118:22-23) Let us confess our rejection and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Forgive us, God. We have rejected the Cornerstone of the spiritual house you have built. We stumble over it and fall because we refuse to obey your Word. We refuse to love our neighbor as ourselves. We refuse to love our enemies. We stumble over it and fall because we refuse to accept the very foundation on which your Cornerstone is laid: that love wins. Hear our prayers for mercy. Hear our prayers for transformation. Change us, God of love, into the followers of Christ we claim to be. Assurance of God's Grace For God has destined us not for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live with him. (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
