Whoever does not love me does not keep my words, and the word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me. (John 14:24) Let us confess our lack of love and seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession God of the past, present, and future, forgive us, we pray. Forgive our fixation on what has been, our apathy toward what is now, and our fear of what tomorrow holds. Our impatience with suffering results in whining rather than resolve. Laughter and singing elude us because we wallow in despair. We are too wrapped up in ourselves to love you by loving your children. Hear our prayers, O God. Renew in us a purity of faith that stands the test of fire, and save us from ourselves. Assurance of God's Grace In (Christ) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. (Ephesians 1:7) Hear the Good News: in the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.
