11/26/2025 2 Comments Call to Worship, Advent 1AGather in, you woke and you who are still waking.
The night is gone. The day is near. Gather in, you who wear the armor of light. The works of darkness no longer have power over us. The night is gone. The day is near. Put on the joy of Christ. Undergird it with Jesus' unconditional love. Let the mercy of the Lord cover everything, that the peace of Christ might reign in us.

I made a commitment to -- as much as possible -- follow the Old Testament readings through the cycle. The next cycle, I followed the gospels. This past cycle has been focused on the Psalms. And now we enter the fourth cycle, where I will focus on the epistles. There will be occasional variations on the norm, but the bulk of the liturgy -- and my preaching -- will be on the epistles for the next three years. I am excited about this new challenge as I have learned much from each cycle thus far. I welcome your thoughts on the focus passages each week, and look forward to ongoing conversation around the scriptures! The focus passage for A Place of Grace this week is Romans 13:11-14. All liturgy will be based on this passage. What in Romans 13:11-14 inspires or encourages you? Share your thoughts here: www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1275002744668976&set=a.549399683895956 . The days are surely coming ...
surely coming when God will raise up a righteous Branch who will deal wisely ... who will execute justice ... justice! and righteousness! and wisdom! And the sheep shall no longer fear or be dismayed or go missing. Praise be to God! Call to Confession
All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Let us confess our sin before God and seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession, Reign of Christ Sunday, Year C Watch out! You said, O God. Watch out! You warned those who scattered your sheep and drove them away. You warned those who did not attend to the needs of your lambs. You warned us there would be consequences. Still we have not heeded your warning. Instead, we have sought to do exactly what you warned us not to do, we have divided ourselves: us against them; We have constructed barriers to keep the other out. We are not whom you have called us to be. Forgive us, we pray. Teach us to shepherd your people with mercy and compassion. Teach us to live the kind of justice that creates a world where no one needs to fear or dread harm, Where your people live together in harmony And safety, And peace. Assurance of God's Grace God kept God’s promise to raise up a righteous descendant from David’s line, and he has become our Righteousness. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day~ Jeremiah 23:1-6 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=jeremiah%2023%3A1-6&version=NRSVUE

(God's) anger is but for a moment; (God's) favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning. (Psalm 30:5) Let us confess our sin before God and call upon God's favor: Prayer of Confession We said we would give thanks to you, O God, but too often we do not-- except on the day when gratitude is expected. We speak thanks with our lips but fail to live it with our lives. We hoard what we have and forget those in need. We claim to trust in you, yet our fear betrays us. Trusting you would mean living by love-- showing mercy, defending the vulnerable-- but instead we look away. We said we would make your deeds known, yet we silence your ongoing work in the world. Forgive us, Lord. Turn us again toward gratitude and grace, that our words and actions may tell your story every day, in every way. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Assurance of God's Grace From the fullness (of Christ) we have all received grace upon grace. (John 1:16) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week. 11/11/2025 0 Comments Call to Worship, P+23CGive thanks to the Lord; call on God's name!
We will give thanks for though God was angry with us, God turned God's anger away and comforted us. Make known God's deeds among the nations! We will sing praises to the Lord for the Lord has done gloriously. Proclaim that God's name is exalted! God is our salvation; we will trust and not be afraid.
