Against the Lord, and the Lord only, have we sinned, and done what is evil in God's sight, so that God may be justified in God's words, and blameless in God's judgment. (Psalm 51:5, pp) Let us confess our sin before God and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Rotten grapes, we are, O God, after all your hard work pruning and training and nurturing us into being. We have failed to meet your expectations. Our flavor is gone. Forgive us, we pray! Forgive our wayward reach, our clumping together in open defiance, our sour attitudes. We deserve your judgment, O God, but we beg you not to treat us the way we treat others in your name. It is not too late, is it? Retrain us! Prune from us that which is not fruitful or nutritious or Godly in flavor, and restore our fullness by your grace. Assurance of God's Grace the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love. (Psalm 147:11) Hear the Good News: in Jesus Christ we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week. 8/9/2022 0 Comments Call to Worship, P+10CCome and sing to the Beloved.
Come and sing to the owner of the vineyard. Sing songs of love and adoration. Sing songs of praise and thanksgiving. Sing songs of repentence and listen for God's reply. Come, you children of God, and sing your songs of worship. 8/5/2022 0 Comments Playlist, P+9CO, For a Thousand Tongues to Sing

“But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and herbs of all kinds and neglect justice and the love of God; it is these you ought to have practiced, without neglecting the others. (Luke 11:42) Let us confess the places where we have neglected to practice justice and the love of God and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Forgive us, God, for our deeds are evil. We have failed to learn your lessons on love. Love puts the needs of others ahead of our selfish desires. Love shares power instead of hoarding it. Love rescues the oppressed, defends the orphan, and pleads for the widow. But we are the oppressors, the prosecutors. We have set ourselves up as the judge. Forgive our abominable and faithless acts of "worship," and wash the blood of our neighbor from our hands, we pray! Do not hide your eyes from us, lest we be devoured by the sword we insist we have the right to carry. Inspire in us an obedience to God rather than idols, and open our eyes to the Truth revealed in Love. Assurance of God's Grace law came in, so that the trespass might increase, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so grace might also reign through justification leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 5:20) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Chrsit to all whom you encounter this week. 8/2/2022 0 Comments Call to Worship, P+9CChildren of God, come near.
You who believe in your own righteousness and you who are looking to be restored; you who have done evil, and you who are looking to do good; you stubborn know-it-alls, and you who are ready to listen. God is speaking. Come into the circle of grace and worship. |
