as it is written: “There is no one who is righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who has understanding; there is no one who seeks God. 12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness; there is not even one.” (Romans 3:10-12) Let us confess our unrighteousness and seek the God who shows kindness beyond anything we could ever possibly deserve: Prayer of Confession We are the most foolish of the fools, God: we claim to believe with our very loud words but in the very same sentence we betray you and our actions support our idolatry. We have replaced our trust in you with trust in power and greed and self-sufficiency and trust in human leaders who practice demagoguery. We are corrupt, and our abominable deeds prove it. We have gone astray, O God. We claim to love you, but we do not love your children unless they look like us and talk like us and live like us and believe like us. Forgive us, we pray. Transform our betrayal into devotion, our perversion into humility, our waywardness and faithfulness. Deliver us, O God, we pray, that we may provide the earthly refuge your people in need are seeking, according to your commandments. Assurance of God's Grace But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people,[d] in order that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10) Hear the Good News: in the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week. 7/23/2024 0 Comments Call to Worship, P+10BCome, you righteous,
and you who demand justice for the poor. Come, and find refuge in the Lord. Come, you who call upon the Lord, and you who lift up the marginalized. Come, and rejoice in God's name. Let us worship God together! 2 Samuel 11:1-15 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Samuel+11%3A1-15&version=NRSVUE

you are above all, and in all, and through you, all things exist that exist. Your faithfulness is beyond our human comprehension. Generation after generation, you keep covenant with us, and we are grateful! Hear our prayers, O God, for we who have failed to keep your commandments. Be present with us in our weakness, we pray. Strengthen us through humility and prayer. Teach us to listen to you and help us to understand your Word beyond the surface level reading of it. Inspire in us a deep love for our neighbor, our enemy, our very selves, so that when we love others accordingly, it is with compassion and kindness, with hope for their success, and with a passion for justice that equalizes the playing field for all of your children, everywhere. Focus our attention on the example you set for us in Jesus, who loved unconditionally, spoke truth to power, welcomed the marginalized, fed the hungry, brought healing to the infirm, forgave generously, championed the oppressed, and lifted the despairing out of the depths, that we might be the leaders you have called us to be. 7/18/2024 0 Comments Playlist, P+9B7/17/2024 0 Comments Prayer of Confession, P+9BCall to Confession
Listen, children, to a father’s instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain[a] insight, for I give you good precepts: do not forsake my teaching. (Proverbs 4:1-2) Let us confess our failures to follow God's instruction and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Sovereign God, we have failed to follow your ordinances; we have forsaken your law. You have told us what is good: to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with you. But we choose criminality and cruelty, and cockiness instead. You have summed up your law in two commandments: to love you with all our hearts and minds and souls and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. But we choose to worship idols and to follow them wherever their lies take us in the name of greed and abuse of power. Forgive us, we pray. Cleanse our souls of all unrighteousness and restore a right spirit within us: a spirit of Truth and spirit of Joy and a spirit of LOVE in the name of the One who created us out of Love in the very beginning and who loves us still, in spite of our weaknesses. In the name of the Redeemer, we pray, with hope for your promised salvation. Assurance of God's Grace If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Hear the Good News: in the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week. 7/16/2024 0 Comments Call to Worship, P+9BGather in,
you who are considered the weakest, the least, the smallest, the most unlikely. Like David, you, too, can be called to serve God's people. Come and see. Gather in, you faithful people, who not only call on the name of the Lord, but live in relationship with God. God's covenant extends to all who trust in God. Come and worship! 2 Samuel 7:1-14a www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+Samuel+7%3A1-14a&version=NRSVUE
