7/9/2019 0 Comments Call to Worship, P5CWhat do you see,
you who have left your day-to-day work lives for worship and for service in the name of God? What do you see, you unexpectedly ordained coming from your ordinary lives to listen for God's voice? Open the eyes of your hearts and look at what God has done ... is doing ... will do ... Look, and worship God.

7/5/2019 0 Comments Prayers of the People, P4CO Holy Parent,
be present with your children in captivity, stolen away from their parents, taken to unknown lands, sold as servants or held as prisoners or trafficked as objects instead of being loved like the precious children of God they are. May the voices of justice cry out for them that they, too, may know freedom in the name of Christ, who represents freedom for all. O Merciful Healer, be present with those who are suffering with illness, with addiction, with grief, with fear, with pain. Place your healing hand upon them, we pray, and grant them comfort, strength, and courage to face each new day. Place people in their lives who can offer solutions, and grant them the wisdom to discern which healing paths to follow. May the whisper of Spirit inspire them, that they, too, may know freedom in the name of Christ, who represents freedom for all. O Great Prophetess, be present with those who direct your people to still waters and other unexpected places of hope. Instill in them a spirit of humility, a compassionate heart, a loving kindness, and a clear vision, that those who seek their guidance may be restored by your power at work in them, and those who do not understand them may not fear them, but come to respect your call on their lives. May the energy of love move them, that they, too, may know freedom in the name of Christ, who represents freedom for all. 7/3/2019 0 Comments Prayer of Confession, P4CCall to Confession
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, til God has mercy upon us. (Psalm 123:2) Let us confess our sin before God, and seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession, P4C O Lord, do not punish us because we have done foolishly and have sinned. Have mercy on us, we pray. Our impatience has gotten the best of us. Our tempers flare. In our pride, we fail to acknowledge the wonders you can do for us in the simplest of ways. We demand great shows of power to match what we think of ourselves, when your all-encompassing love shows what you think of us. Forgive our egocentricity. Teach us the humility of prayer and the wisdom of listening to the faithful when addressing matters of the spirit however they manifest themselves. Assurance of God's Grace You were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (2 Corinthians 6:11b) In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this day. You who are suffering and longing to be healed, come.
The Healer is waiting to restore you to wholeness. You who are bold enough to speak truth to power, come. The Spirit is waiting to embrace you. You who have not yet experienced God's wonders, come. The Sovereign is waiting to reveal God's self to you. You who have been commissioned by God, come. Your Master is waiting to bless you. Come and worship. |
