4/29/2026 0 Comments Prayer of Confession, E5ACall to Confession
The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. (Psalm 118:22-23) Let us confess our rejection and seek God's mercy: Prayer of Confession Forgive us, God. We have rejected the Cornerstone of the spiritual house you have built. We stumble over it and fall because we refuse to obey your Word. We refuse to love our neighbor as ourselves. We refuse to love our enemies. We stumble over it and fall because we refuse to accept the very foundation on which your Cornerstone is laid: that love wins. Hear our prayers for mercy. Hear our prayers for transformation. Change us, God of love, into the followers of Christ we claim to be. Assurance of God's Grace For God has destined us not for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live with him. (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10) Hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week.

you living stones of God's spiritual house. Once we were not a people, but now we are God's people. Gather in and proclaim the excellence of Christ who called us out of darkness and into his marvelous light. Once we had not received mercy, but now we have received mercy. Let us worship the Cornerstone, chosen and precious, who anchors this house ... the house that God built. Acts 7:55-60 www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts%207%3A55-60&version=NRSVUE

now led home. We come with burdens and unseen wounds, yet we are not alone. Christ has walked this road before us, bearing suffering with mercy and trust. In his wounds, we find healing. In his grace, we return. Once we were like sheep gone astray, but now we come home-- to the Shepherd and Guardian of our souls. Come, let us worship the One who restores us. When I was on staff at The United Presbyterian Church, one of our favorite songs to sing during Youth Quest worship was Halle, Halle, Halle. I can still see our sweet JoJo run up to the chancel to dance to Halle, Halle, Halle as we sang. <3 He put his whole heart (and body) into that song of praise! It makes me smile still. <3 4/16/2026 0 Comments Prayer of Confession, E3ACall to Confession
Since we have (God’s) promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of flesh and of spirit, making holiness perfect in the fear of God. (2 Corinthians 7:1) Let us confess our uncleanness and seek God’s cleansing redemption: Prayer of Confession Oh, God, forgive us. We have been living as though wealth could liberate us, as though money was the answer to our problems, as though promises of a better economy were enough. They are not, and we know it, for wealth is fleeting and money is perishable and the promises of humans are as faulty as the humans who make them. Forgive us, we pray, for we have chosen loyalty to human leaders over obedience to you; we have chosen darkness over light, decay over life; we have chosen war over love. In your mercy, God, hear our prayers, and call us back to reverence for the One chosen before the beginning of the world, and help us to place our trust in him. Assurance of God’s Grace (God) has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13-14) People of God, hear the Good News: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week. 4/15/2026 0 Comments Call to Worship, E3AGather in, you who face rejection

Whoever does not love me does not keep my words, and the word that you hear is not mine but is from the Father who sent me. (John 14:24) Let us confess our lack of love and seek God's mercy. Prayer of Confession God of the past, present, and future, forgive us, we pray. Forgive our fixation on what has been, our apathy toward what is now, and our fear of what tomorrow holds. Our impatience with suffering results in whining rather than resolve. Laughter and singing elude us because we wallow in despair. We are too wrapped up in ourselves to love you by loving your children. Hear our prayers, O God. Renew in us a purity of faith that stands the test of fire, and save us from ourselves. Assurance of God's Grace In (Christ) we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace. (Ephesians 1:7) Hear the Good News: in the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God! Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another. The peace of Christ be with you. Please extend the peace of Christ to all whom you encounter this week. |
